Executive Summary

Company is "in the final stages of negotiations" to grant Johnson & Johnson's Codman & Shurtleff division exclusive worldwide distribution rights for its Optical Catheter System in the neuroendoscopy and spinal markets. Medical Dynamics says it has been looking for a partner with an established distribution network in the two specialties; the company currently sells the fiber optic endoscope for arthroscopic and laparoscopic applications, for which it will retain rights. "We anticipate finalizing details with Codman soon and, in turn, expect to see a positive financial impact in 1994 if the agreement proceeds as planned," Medical Dynamics CEO Van Horsley says in a Jan. 24 press release
