San Diego-based Halozyme Therapeutics has named Dr Athena Countouriotis chief medical officer. She will be responsible for directing Halozyme's research, clinical development and regulatory activities. Most recently, Dr Countouriotis was CMO at Ambit Biosciences (acquired by Daiichi Sankyo in November 2014).
