Executive Summary
A South Korean study has concluded that taking antibiotics and painkillers in the early stages of pregnancy has almost no effect on the risk of having a deformed child. A team of scientists studied pregnant women exposed to ampicillin and Ortho McNeill Jansen's Tylenol (acetaminophen) between 3.5 and 4.6 weeks of pregnancy and compared outcomes with unexposed mothers-to-be and found no statistically differences between the two groups in giving birth to congenitally malformed offspring. The same study also found the dosages did not create a statistically different risk of premature births, underweight children or miscarriages. (Click here for more
