Viz.ai closes $50mm Series B round to expand computer-aided stroke triage software
Executive Summary
Viz.ai Inc. (artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to detect and triage stroke) closed a $50mm Series B round led by Greenoaks, which was joined by other new backers Threshold Ventures and CRV, along with returning investors GV and Kleiner Perkins. The company's FDA-cleared, cloud-based AI-powered software cross-references CT scans of a patient’s brain with database images to identify suspected large-vessel occlusions and alert a stroke specialist within minutes, providing the patient with a shorter time to treatment and synchronized care. Viz.ai will use the proceeds to expand its software to more disease states and geographies. Including the current round, the 2016 start-up has raised $78.5mm to date.
