Syncona biotech firm Achilles Therapeutics Ltd. was founded in 2016 as a spin off from the Francis Crick Institute and University College London. It was built on the work of thoracic oncologist Charles Swanton, a founder of Achilles Therapeutics and chief clinician at Cancer Research UK (CRUK).
